GAZA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 37,658, health authorities in the enclave said on Tuesday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 32 Palestinians and wounded 139 others, bringing the total number of injuries to 86,237 since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out in October 2023, the health authorities said in a statement.

Also on Tuesday, the Hamas-run health authorities warned in a press statement of a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies necessary to continue its services.

The statement called on international institutions to quickly intervene and provide the needed medicines and medical supplies to save the lives of patients and injured people.

In a separate statement, Hamas accused the Israeli government of continuing to "challenge" all international laws, customs and humanitarian values by deliberately targeting "innocent civilians and committing the most horrific massacres against them."

The movement held the U.S. administration responsible for enabling what they described as "genocidal war" in the Gaza Strip by providing political and military support to Israel, allowing it to continue its mission of destruction and annihilation in the Strip.

Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and around 250 were taken hostage.
