RIYADH, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2023 Saudi Cup concluded here on Saturday with the Yoshito Yahagi-trained Panthalassa emerging victorious at the King Abdulaziz Racecourse.

Panthalassa covered the 1,800-meter distance in a time of 1:50:80, beating Country Grammar, trained by Bob Baffert and ridden by Frankie Dettori.

In other groups, four-year-old Salfan won the Jockey Club Cup, and the Tilal Al Khalediah horse won the Obaiya Arabian Classic Cup.

Meanwhile, the Neom Cup went to Mostahdaf of the United Arab Emirates.

The top-tier racing tournament was organised by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, with the races beginning on Friday with the participation of 243 horses from 16 countries and regions. ■
