UN chief shocked by Czech mass shooting

At least 14 people were killed, with 25 others injured, when a suspect opened fire Thursday at Charles University in Prague, making the country's worst mass shooting.

UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was shocked and saddened by a mass shooting at a university in Czech capital Prague, his spokesman said on Thursday.

The secretary-general expressed his deepest condolences to the victims' families and wished those injured a speedy and full recovery, the spokesman Stephane Dujarric said, according to a statement.

The spokesman said the UN chief also reiterated his full solidarity with the people and government of the Czech Republic.
