Senior Chinese official to chair BRICS security meeting

BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security will be held virtually on Wednesday, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced here.

Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, will chair the meeting in Beijing, and national security advisers and high representatives on national security of South Africa, Brazil, Russia and India will attend the event, spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a press briefing. ■
