Vietnam supports HKSAR Basic Law, related regulations

Vietnam hopes to see Hong Kong enjoy stability and prosperity, said a Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

HANOI, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam respects and supports the "one country, two systems" principle, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Basic Law and other related regulations, a Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said on China's newly adopted law on safeguarding national security in the HKSAR.

Vietnam pays attention to and follows the situation in Hong Kong and has clearly stated its stance on Hong Kong affairs, Hang said, adding that Vietnam hopes to see Hong Kong enjoy stability and prosperity.  ■
