ISTANBUL, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Yoros Castle is a significant historical fortress located on the Asian side of Istanbul, Türkiye, overlooking the Bosphorus Strait where it meets the Black Sea.
Its strategic position was crucial, especially during the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) period, as it allowed for control and defense of this important maritime passage.
