GAZA, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Students in the Gaza Strip are struggling to continue their learning in temporary classrooms as many schools in the war-torn enclave are used for accommodating the homeless inflicted by the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

According to UN estimates, more than 1.9 million people, or 85 percent of the Gaza population, have been internally displaced due to escalating Israeli bombardment and ground operations. A majority of the displaced are crammed into the small area in the far south of Rafah City bordering Egypt.
