Since forging its partnership with the Cannes Film Festival 25 years ago, Chopard has built its reputation as the 'red carpet jeweller', dressing the world's biggest stars walk down La Croisette in its sparkling creations every year. To celebrate this long partnership as well as the festival's 75th anniversary, the Swiss luxury watch and jewellery brand unveils a cinema-inspired Red Carpet collection with 75 high jewellery designs inspired by the most iconic movies in history.

Ahead of the festivities, co-president and artistic director of Chopard, Caroline Scheufele shared some insight on how each piece finds its way onto the red carpet. "Our approach has always been to let celebrities choose what they like to wear. They know what suits them and what they're comfortable with; it's an organic process," she says. "From day one, Julia Roberts knows exactly what she wants. She picks the jewellery then she chooses the dress and the shoes (or maybe she'll go barefoot again like last time!)"

As godmother of the Trophée Chopard, Roberts also attended the award ceremony to celebrate emerging talents. She wore a gorgeous all-black ensemble by Dior with one of the most impressive high jewellery pieces from Chopard's 2022 Red Carpet collection. Scheufele reveals that the brooch, inspired by Charlie Chaplin's City of Lights, took about four and a half months to create the piece. "Each petal was made by hand and articulated with over 1,800 little diamonds. Only one jeweller could work on it so that the signature would be the same," she says.
