GAZA/JERUSALEM, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza and people in Israel took to the streets on Wednesday night to mark the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, ending a devastating 15-month conflict.

In both places, the celebrations -- featuring Palestinian flags and placards advocating for hostages -- were infused with relief over the truce, yet tempered by the grief of immense losses endured during the war.
