PANJIN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Two oriental white storks have nested on a power transmission tower in Erjiegou Town of Panjin City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, since March, 2019, with two newly hatched birds this year.
To protect both the birds and power transmission lines, staff members from local electric company have taken various measures such as placing protection boards and carrying out more patrols.
The oriental white stork, a migratory bird species under first-class national protection, has been listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
