TIANJIN, China, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The construction of China's self-designed cylindrical Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit has started in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.
FPSO is an offshore crude oil processing plant integrating the functions of crude oil production, storage and export.
With a designed life span of 30 years, the cylindrical FPSO can operate at sea for 15 years in a row without returning to the dock.

It has a maximum oil storage capacity of 60,000 cubic meters.
