Thanks to Airbnb, one lucky couple will have the chance to stay at Highclere Castle
Thought your Downton Abbey obsession couldn’t get any more exciting as the movie’s release date gets closer and closer?
Well, Airbnb just announced that one lucky couple will now have the opportunity to stay — for one night only — at the real Downton Abbey. To celebrate the release of the Downton Abbey movie, the owners of Highclere Castle have listed their home on Airbnb at a rate of £150.
During the stay, the winners will have access to the castle’s 100,000 square foot interior and 300 room estate in Hampshire, England. The pair will receive private tour of the castle's extensive grounds, followed by dinner with the Earl and Countess in the state dining room and coffee in the library before heading off to sleep in one of the gallery bedrooms, which overlook 1,000 acres of land. In the morning, the guests will enjoy a lavish breakfast downstairs before heading out.

So how does one win this fabulous getaway? The selected couple will need to convince the Lord and Lady that they are “passionate about Downton Abbey” and only applicants with a verified Airbnb profile (with positive reviews) will be considered.
Those not lucky enough to win will still be able to visit the Abbey during the day; Highclere Castle is open to the public throughout select days of the year.
The castle, which has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679, has also been used as a location for various other films and TV shows, including John Legend’s music video for “Heaven.”
The Downton Abbey movie opened in the U.K. last week and will hit cinemas in Hong Kong October 17.
