Elderly woman, 83, in Hong Kong nursing home dies after another resident placed plastic bag over her head

An elderly woman living in a nursing home in Hong Kong has died after another resident was suspected to have suffocated her by placing a plastic bag over her head.

Police received a call from a worker at Senior Care (Man Kee) Elderly Care Home in Man Kee Mansion on Waterloo Road, at 5.11am on Saturday.

Paramedics then took the unconscious 83-year-old woman to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei, where she later died.

Media reports said another resident at the home had placed a plastic bag over the woman's head before she passed out.

A staff from the nursing home refused to comment when contacted by the Post.
