JOHOR, Malaysia, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Yingge teams from China and Malaysia staged Yingge dances during a parade in Johor, Malaysia, attracting a lot of audiences on the spot.
Yingge dance, literally the Songs of Heroes dance, is a traditional folk dance that originated in the Chaoshan area of South China's Guangdong Province. Based on the stories of the 108 heroes of Liangshan Mountain from the classic novel Outlaws of the Marsh, Yingge combines elements of opera, dance and martial arts.
