ANKARA, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- A passenger bus carrying Japanese tourists overturned on Thursday in Türkiye's central province of Afyonkarahisar, injuring 22 people, the state-run TRT broadcaster reported.
The bus reportedly overturned into a ravine at the Demirbel locality of the Cay-Suhut highway in Afyonkarahisar, about 250 km southwest of the capital Ankara.

One of the wounded, among those already taken to local hospitals, is reportedly in life-threatening condition.
Emergency health teams, gendarmerie, police, and fire brigade have been dispatched to the region, said the report.
Official data show that in 2023, road traffic accidents resulting in death or injury in Türkiye increased to 235,771, up 19.2 percent from the previous year. ■
