Mourao made the remarks while meeting with Vice President-elect Geraldo Alckmin, who was chosen by Lula to head the transition team.

"The transition is underway. We met with Alckmin and everything is going well," Mourao told reporters after his first face-to-face meeting on transition with Alckmin.

Former President Lula won the second round of presidential elections in October, thereby getting set to serve a third four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2023. ■
