The St. Regis Venice opens on the Grand Canal

The St. Regis Venice made its grand debut this past Wednesday on the esteemed Grand Canal following a two-year renovation of the former Grand Hotel Britannia, which was first opened in 1895.

The hotel is comprised of 169 guest rooms (including 40 suites), which come with private terraces and Juliet balconies overlooking a handful of Venice’s most famed landmarks—including Santa Maria della Salute Basilica and the Punta della Dogana Museum.

The top suites include a two-bedroom, art-influenced Presidential Suite and a three-bedroom Penthouse Suite with a wraparound terrace. There are also five Roof Garden Suites available. Every suite includes the signature St. Regis Butler service.

Just behind the hotel, guests will be immersed in the Calle XXII Marzo, a high-end shopping street touting both luxury boutiques and contemporary art galleries.

Inspired by its location in the city and its roots as the Grand Hotel Britannia, the property will curate an eclectic collection of artwork and sculptures. The St. Regis Venice will also host artists from around the world to take residence and create artwork inspired by the property. The first resident artist, Olivier Masmonteil, will create original pieces for the Gran Salone and the Monet Suites.

Continuing with the art theme, the Arts Bar will serve contemporary “art-inspired” cocktails, with bartenders taking inspiration from pieces by Banksy, Yayoi Kusama, and Jeff Koons, among others.

Other dining options include Gio’s, the hotel’s signature modern Italian restaurant. Here, guests can enjoy updated takes on classic Italian, a nightly St. Regis champagne-sabering, and a roaming Spritz Trolley in the garden.

In terms of spa offerings, the property has a collection of Spa Suites in collaboration with Carita Paris, which include beauty lifts, in-depth therapies and other medi-spa options.
