BEIJING Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with Acting Director General of Al Jazeera Media Network Mostefa Souag in Beijing on Friday.
Fu commended the long-term friendly cooperation between Xinhua News Agency and the Al Jazeera Media Network.
The Al-Jazeera Media Network has been actively supporting and participating in relevant activities of the World Media Summit, making important contributions to the consolidation and development of the summit mechanism, Fu said.
He said that Xinhua is willing to strengthen exchange and cooperation with the Al Jazeera Media Network, give full play to the respective advantages of both organizations, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Souag said that both the Al Jazeera Media Network and Xinhua News Agency are international media organizations committed to bringing the truth to people in a professional way. The Al Jazeera Media Network is willing to strengthen mutual learning and promote cooperation in various fields with Xinhua News Agency, he added.
The upcoming sixth World Media Summit, themed "Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation," is being co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. ■
