Hong Kong take on Bahrain at Hong Kong Stadium on Thursday night in the joint qualification campaign for the Fifa World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup in China a year later.

Bahrain are only ranked 101 on the Fifa world rankings but they beat Asia's best team, world No 27 Iran, in their last game and sit above them in the group C table. Hosts Hong Kong are No 145 on the world rankings.

While Hong Kong head coach Mixu Paatelainen called upon football fans to get behind the team against Bahrain, many have asked how they get a ticket for Thursday's vital qualifier at Hong Kong Stadium.

The answer is simple.

Fans can purchase tickets from the Hong Kong Football Association's ticketing partner Cityline until Wednesday.

That can be done in person at Tom Lee Music in Wan Chai, Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin and Yuen Long, and at the MacPherson Stadium box office in Mong Kok.

They can also be bought online at cityline.com until Wednesday or on their telephone booking hotline (2111 5333) from 10am-8pm. A booking fee applies for all tickets bought through Cityline.

Cityline sales for the Bahrain game will stop at 11.59pm on Wednesday.

On Thursday, tickets are only available at the stadium box office, which opens from 10am until kick-off at 8pm.

Based on the previous home game against Iran in September, queues are expected so allow time before kick-off.

While World Cup 2022 qualification seems unlikely, Hong Kong still need a win to keep them on track for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in China. They currently sit fourth of five teams in group C, level on points with bottom side Cambodia.

Those two teams meet at Hong Kong Stadium next Tuesday.
