The national security office of China's central gov't in HKSAR supports HK police's arrest of Jimmy Lai Chee-ying and others, saying anyone who breaches the national security law in HK and Hong Kong laws will be brought to justice.

HONG KONG, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday expressed firm support for Hong Kong police in arresting Jimmy Lai Chee-ying and others.

Anyone who breaches the national security law in Hong Kong and Hong Kong laws will be brought to justice, the spokesperson said, stressing that the national security office firmly supports the Hong Kong police in performing their duties in accordance with law and resolutely cracking down on any act endangering national security according to law.

Hong Kong police arrested 10 people on Monday with some of them suspected of breaching the national security law. Lai, an instigator of the Hong Kong riots, was among the people under arrest.
