JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The annually-held Chingay Parade Festival has returned in grand celebration after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing over 300,000 visitors.

Local Chinese hold the tradition as part of Chinese New Year festivities, wishing for peace and prosperity, as deities are carried around the main streets of Johor Bahru, joined by procession featuring flashy floats, lion and dragon dances.
