An elongated corridor at this 2,500 sq. ft. abode has been transformed into an elegant family library.
CLIENT BRIEF
The client sought a comfortable home that seamlessly integrated retro-modern furniture, an expanding collection of art pieces and prints, and versatile spaces for children, friends, and extended family.
CONCEPT & STYLE
Designed for a young, blossoming family, who values quality time together, this residence features significant public zones for get-togethers – large and small, including a flexible and commodious living and dining room, library nooks, and rest lounge. It embraces a down-to-earth palette and designer wallpapers for a retro-modern flair.
CHALLENGE
The abode boasted an elongated floor plan that wasn’t practical. All rooms were connected through a long and windowless corridor with a relatively low headroom.
SOLUTION
“We turned this corridor into a bright hallway connecting the breakfast nook with the living and dining rooms,” said via. founder Frank Leung. “The hallway also becomes the family’s library, with built-in nooks highlighted by Borastapeter’s Venice wallpaper, and integrated with soft glowing light.”
A bright, patterned marble floor that gradually turns from beige-white to gray-white makes an elegant statement connecting different rooms.
Tips
Nookin’ Stylish
