Price: HK$2,988 for two, HK$688 for wine pairing

If your special someone loves seafood, look no further than Rech by Alain Ducasse at InterContinental Hong Kong. Specially prepared for Valentine’s Day, the 6-course menu begins with a sumptuous seafood platter, followed by raw and cooked langoustines in a ginger broth and John Dory cooked with leeks, osetra caviar and champagne sauce.

After the seafood feast, enjoy the braised beef short ribs with carrots and chicory, before tucking into a refreshing pre-dessert made of Japanese strawberry sorbet with yuzu cream and crunchy meringue. Then, brace yourself for the star of the night: two chocolate desserts—named "For her" and "For him"— created with chocolates from Alain Ducasse’s manufacture in Paris. For her, the chef has prepared a dark chocolate shell filled with vanilla cream, flourless chocolate sponge and raspberries, served with raspberry juice. For him, the fillings are milk chocolate cream, crunchy hazelnut sponge and toffee, topped with warm salted caramel sauce.

Specialises in traditional edomae sushi, Umi boasts an intimate space reminiscent of an omakase sushi bar in Tokyo, making it ideal for a cosy dinner for two. Sushi takes centre stage in the menu, allowing fresh, high-quality raw fish such as tuna, filefish, sea perch, winter yellowtail and ice fish as well as shellfish like pen shell clam and kuruma prawn to shine through in their purest form. Complete with a sea urchin maki roll and a Japanese dessert, the dinner is a truly exquisite experience for the occasion.

While each course is memorable in its own way, the dessert, Castellana's take on the classic pain au chocolat, is unmatched and beautifully presented to add extra sweetness to your evening.
