Tony Ferguson will be looking to submit Khabib Nurmagomedov, according to his coach Eddie Bravo.

The consensus is that "El Cucuy" will get the next crack at the UFC lightweight champion, despite retired legend Georges St-Pierre's name entering the frame.

Both Ferguson and Khabib are riding 12-fight win streaks in the UFC, but the Russian is undefeated through his whole career.

"With that calibre of fight, I don't make predictions," Bravo told Mo Hosani 360. "But we are planning on beating him.

"(I) can't give away too much, but the difference is, everybody (else) is running from Khabib on the ground. They spend the whole time trying to get to the fence to get back up. Tony's not going to do that. Tony's going to attack.

"So it's going to be a little different. He's going to attack with submissions, and he's going to attack with elbows. He's not going to try to get back up. He'll try to keep the fight standing and do some takedown defence and all that stuff."

UFC: Ferguson only man who can beat Khabib, says Ortega

Khabib defended his title at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi but at one point looked in trouble with interim champion Dustin Poirier locking him up in a guillotine. Bravo said Ferguson will target specifically with the D'Arce choke.

"When you're looking for D'Arces all the time, it alters your game. D'Arcers, you approach them a little bit differently, it alters your game.

"Tony is that guy. Tony will hit those things from every angle. While Khabib is trying to take him down, he's gotta watch out for all that s***."
