Currently, the mud around the buried houses is being cleared, and the roads blocked by the mudslide have now been reopened, the official added.

Although some people are still listed as missing, the search operation has been suspended, he said.

The fatal incident occurred on Monday after a mud pond in the jade mine area of Hpakant township collapsed.■
