China and Cambodia are close neighbors. The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence advocated by China is in common with late Cambodian King Father Norodom Sihanouk's principle of "neutrality," which makes it very natural for the two countries to establish friendly relations.
Sihanouk once said: "There has never been any problem or cloud in the Cambodia-China friendship, which has benefited my country and people."
