JAKARTA, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said on Friday that Indonesia will continue to support Palestine despite that the United States has vetoed to deny Palestine's full membership of the United Nation.

"Although regrettable, it doesn't mean we will give up. We will keep trying," Marsudi noted.

Amid the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, Indonesia has been engaged in intensive communication with partner countries in a bid to promote peace and stability there, in addition to its usual diplomatic support for the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Indonesia will speak out its support for Palestine and call for an end to the conflict in the Middle East at the Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) scheduled to be held on May 4 to 5 in the Gambia.

It is our collective responsibility to de-escalate the tension and keep the Middle East situation from getting worse, Marsudi stressed. ■
