Sara Sigmundsdottir is in first place after day two of the Wodapalooza CrossFit sanctional. She came fifth and sixth in the two Friday workouts, which was enough to move her above three-times CrossFit Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey, who came 11th and second.

The two workouts were "pace race" and "pump session triplet".

Wodapalooza is one of the most competitive sanctionals of the season, jam packed with the best athletes in the sport and is taking place between February 20 and 23.

During race pace, athletes raced a computer generated pace boat on the rowing machine, which slowly increased in speed. They were knocked out if it overtook them, and they had to last 12 minutes.

American Kari Peace, 30, won the triplet, followed by Toomey and American Amanda Barnhart, 28.

Toomey, 26, is a three-times winner of the CrossFit Games, crowned the Fittest on Earth more than any other woman. Sara Sigmundsdottir, 27, is one of the most popular athletes in CrossFit and finished second at the games in 2015 and 2016. The pair were tied in first place after day one.

Travis Williams, 27, held the lead from day one in the men's competition. He finished second in the pace race and 12th in the triplet, doing enough to stay top despite not winning an event outright yet. The American finished fourth and second respectively in the two workouts on day one. Williams' performance so far comes as a surprise, given his highest Games finish is 23rd.

In race pace, Reggie Fasa, 25, from the UK won, followed by Travis Williams and Albert-Dominic Larouche, 29, in third.

Cole Sager is in second and Patrick Vellner, who came second at the CrossFit Games in 2018, sits in third overall. No one in the overall top three podiumed in the triplet.
