If there is something to be learned from 2020 so far, it is that we should treasure our loved ones every moment we get. While we believe every day is 'mother's day' for the hardest working women in our lives, it's always nice to treat her to a little something extra special on May 10 this year. Ming Court
Treat your mom to an afternoon tea that’s quintessentially Chinese—the acclaimed Cantonese restaurant’s new Wan Chai location is serving the menu on both May 9 and 10 between 2:30pm and 5:00pm. Treats include drunken scallop dumplings with crab meat; steamed pork dumpling with French blue shrimp; baked chicken pastry with abalone; baked wagyu pastry with radish and black truffle sauce; and steamed sea cucumber dumpling with seafood. The tea is priced at HK$888 for two.

Maison Es
Esther Sham’s charming Star Street restaurant is serving a semi-buffet brunch for Mother’s Day featuring Asian-French cuisine, with dishes such as foie gras torchon, seared duck fillet and lychee rose mousse cake. The menu is priced at HK$298 per person, with free-flow Louis Roederer champagne available to add on for HK$288 per person. A four-course dinner tasting menu is also available, with creations such as pan-fried Kagoshima short-rib, yaki onigiri, rocket cress, onsen egg and truffle jus.

Rosewood Hong Kong
The Rosewood is going all out with Mother’s Day celebrations, with special menus and wellness programmes offered throughout the property. Dining highlights include a sumptuous brunch at Holt’s Cafe (HK$788 per person), where mothers can take home a bouquet of flowers and the cafe’s champagne and Tahitian vanilla pralines as a gift.
If sweet treats are the way to your mother’s heart, the afternoon tea at The Butterfly Room is the ideal choice: on 10 May, the venue will serve a five-course tea (HK$920 for two) that includes a complimentary Japanese strawberry shortcake to takeaway and a gift voucher valued at HK$500 for Asaya Hong Kong.
Other dining highlights include a dim sum lunch (HK$800 per person) or eight-course dinner (HK$1,800 per person) at The Legacy House, where nourishing double-boiled soups and other indulgent dishes await. Every mother will be gifted a selection of herbal teas to enjoy at home.

The Peninsula
Treat your mother like the queen she is at the grand dame of hotels. The Peninsula is offering an array of Mother’s Day specials, with highlights including a tasting menu for four persons at Spring Moon for HK$4,980 on the night. Meanwhile, at Chesa, diners can enjoy a four-course lunch menu for HK$628, and The Lobby will offer a four-course lunch menu for HK$418 per person. For the best views, book into Felix for the Sunday brunch (HK$898 per person). Every mother dining at the hotel will receive a special memento to take home with them.

If your mother prefers a more laid-back vibe, treat her to an eight-course Indian feast at Chaiwala (HK$380 per person) or a lavish Japanese brunch at Honjo (HK$368 per person) on 10 May. From the former, enjoy dishes such as pani puri with jal-jeera, Kerala fish curry, and Old Delhi butter chicken. At Honjo’s brunch, two different menus are available and includes some signatures such as the fruit tomato, and shojin sushi. Every mother will also receive a complimentary glass of Perrier-Jouet champagne to celebrate.
Mrs B's Cakery
In celebration of Mother’s Day in a year of challenges, Mrs B’s Cakery have revealed a collection of eight limited edition cakes with names such as Rejoice, Rejuvenate, Reflect, and Recharge. Inspired by springtime, the cakes are intricately designed with exotic blooms printed on chocolate fondant and adorned with handcrafted sugar flowers. Choose your signature flavour as well as the limited edition design at least two working days in advance—the cakes are available from now until May 10 and are priced at HK$980 for a six-inch cake.

Dominique Ansel, master of pastries, has delivered another covetable limited edition series of cakes for the special occasion.
