Jorge Masvidal has taken another swipe at Kamaru Usman and the pair continue to goad each other ahead of a likely 2020 showdown.

UFC welterweight champion Usman riled Masvidal by pretending not to know who he is after successfully defending his title against Colby Covington at UFC 245 last month " a fight "Gamebred" wasn't impressed by.

"Pillow hands both of them," Masvidal told a press conference in Las Vegas. "I know for a lot of you, the end result is this guy (Covington) got his jaw broken. But he got his jaw broken because he's made out of glass.

"Usman doesn't hit and that's indicated in his record. I think he has two stoppages, that was his second one. I give him props " on the biggest night of his life he pulled off his second KO and that's awesome.

"But if you're asking me from technical standpoint, we're not in the same playing field when it comes to stand-up. And he knows it.

"That man can never look me in the eyes and say, 'I would stand with you'. He would immediately magnetise on my crotch and do what he does, avoid the fight at all costs. But we're ready for that."

Asked if he would be interested in fighting former friend and American Top Team stablemate Covington, Masvidal was blunt.

"It's not on my radar," he said. "He got his jaw broken by a guy I'm about to baptise. After I'm done with Usman, the world will see the vast … we're not in same playing field with the skill level.

"We haven't been since we were in gym as kids and we're definitely not now. The only way I can show that is when I get my hands on Usman, I'll just wait until that day comes."
