Dominick Reyes put in a slick performance to knock out Chris Weidman in the first round in the main event of UFC Boston on Friday night.

Reyes landed a back step left straight then put Weidman out with three right hammer fists as Herb Dean stepped in at 1:43 of the first round.

"The Devastator" remains undefeated at 12-0 overall (6-0 in the UFC) and called out light heavyweight champion Jon Jones after the fight.

"Hey Jon, I don't want any party favours, I want the belt man, let's go," Reyes said in the Octagon.

"I was out there having fun, feeling loose," he added. "He came in and I put him down. I'm so honoured to fight Chris, he's a fantastic competitor. His loss is my gain, that's how this business is, but it's all love baby.

"Early in the fight I seen the opening there, I saw him lunge in. I knew he was gonna lunge in, I cracked him in the jaw. Those hammer fists finished it, he was already hurt."

Reyes is No 4 in the light heavyweight rankings. For former middleweight champion Weidman it was a disastrous debut in the division.

"All props to Dom Reyes. I apologise I didn't get the W," Weidman said. "It's a game we play, I promise I'll be back better."
