Shanghai reports 7 new imported COVID-19 cases

The total number of imported COVID-19 cases in Shanghai reached 153.

SHANGHAI, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported seven new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from overseas on Saturday, the municipal health commission said Sunday.

The new reports have brought the total number of imported cases in Shanghai to 153. The patients have been sent to designated hospitals for treatment. A total of 52 close contacts on flights have been put under medical observation.

Among the 153 cases, seven have been discharged from hospital and 146 others remain hospitalized. Three of them are still in severe condition, the commission said.

Additionally, 13 suspected cases from overseas need to be confirmed.

The municipality reported no new locally transmitted cases on Saturday. The city's total confirmed local cases remained at 339. As of Friday, 327 of the patients have been discharged from hospital after recovery, five had died, and seven are still receiving treatment in hospital.  ■
