One Championship has signed Jeff Chan " the popular YouTuber known as "MMAShredded" " to a fight contract.

Canadian Chan has over 130,000 subscribers on YouTube, more than 350,000 followers on Facebook and nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram. He posts informative content breaking down tactics and techniques as well as showing professional fighters' signature moves and how to use them in sparring.

"I have always been very vocal about my plans with you guys, which is focusing on creating accessible martial arts content for everyone," he wrote on his social media accounts. "Helping others is what motivates me and I am extremely passionate about what I do.

"I have mentioned several times that I have no immediate plans to continue fighting, but when @onechampionship reaches out to you, it's one of those rare opportunities in life that you can't simply turn down."

Fighting at featherweight, Chan has a 3-1 record in MMA with two knockout wins, and one submission loss. He last fought for Ontario-based BTC Fight Promotions in November 2018, earning a unanimous decision victory against Marc Gillespie in the company's fight of the year.

Chan revealed he will move to superstar team Tristar in Montreal, Canada to continue training with head trainer Firas Zahabi, the famed MMA and grappling coach whom he has sparred with in several of his videos.

The Tristar Gym boasts a roster of prominent fighters such as former UFC middleweight and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, as well as Bellator welterweight champion Rory MacDonald.

UFC welterweight Kevin Lee has also just made to move to Tristar, where he said St-Pierre would help train him for his next fight, while UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has trained at the gym.

Chan started training Muay Thai when he was 15 years old, and accumulated an amateur record of 24 wins and two losses.

After training in Thailand, he returned to Canada "to produce quality MMA content for people to access from all over the world". He said he wants to "help and inspire as many people as I can".

"Great guy, great videos, fun fighting style. Seriously good striking, particularly his low kicks and ability to manipulate his opponents' balance. Excited to see him work on a big stage while being represented by an elite team," one user wrote on Reddit MMA.

"From watching some of his videos he looks pretty legit, will be excited to see his fight," wrote another.
