The national security legislation for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is a timely move of importance, a Russian expert has said.
The draft decision of the National People's Congress on establishing and improving the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for the HKSAR to safeguard national security is under deliberation at the national legislature.
In a recent interview with Xinhua, Vladimir Zharihin, a Russian political expert with the Institute of CIS countries, said that the legislation will normalize situation in Hong Kong to a great extent.
