Who are the cast of Singapore Social and why are people up in arms about this Netflix show?
“Do you find that other women could be intimidated by you?”

If you thought we were quoting a line from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills orKeeping Up With The Kardashians—we don’t blame you. It’s actually a line from the upcoming Netflix reality show or docuseries Singapore Social, which explores the lives of young Singaporeans. While not much has been released about the show, the official trailer dropped on November 8, sending fellow Singaporean netizens into quite a tizzy online.
Many were confused by the plot, which seems to involve the cast members’ various relationship drama, parental or societal expectations, the quest for happiness and apparently lots of glitz and glamour. Based on public comments left by netizens on social media, the general sentiment is that most don't agree that the show depicts an accurate representation of life in Singapore. Some have likened it to the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians, which famously presented an upscale Singaporean backdrop. But it's still early days and all we've seen is a short trailer so far.
The series will make its debut on November 22, here’s what we know about the cast so far.

Mae Tan
What’s a proper Netflix show based on the youth in Singapore without a fashion influencer amongst the cast? Singapore Tatler friend and fashion plate Mae Tan, whom we flew to New York City with for the July cover of Singapore Tatler, boasts over 80K followers on Instagram—so that’s quite a number of people out there who are constantly exposed to her activities that she makes public on social media. And they’re about to get a bigger dose of her once the series kicks off.
Sukki Singapora
As the first person here to ever perform a full (and legal) burlesque act back in 2015; she is probably Singapore’s answer to Dita von Teese. The Generation T honouree—who performed for Singapore Tatler's Generation T party with Shigga Shay in 2017—is known for her voicing her views on social issues, and is also the global ambassador for UK charity, The Sharan Project which supports vulnerable women in need.

Tabitha Nauser
The Generation T honouree recently performed at the Hong Kong Tatler Ball and attended Singapore Tatler's event—Tatler Table: The Cover Stars Series as well. The R&B singer and Singapore Idol alum is no stranger to the entertainment scene, and even opened for US sensation Khalid’s American Teen Tour in Singapore last November.
Paul Foster
Another familiar face, the actor-host most recently made the news for his reality travelogue on Viu, No Sleep, No Fomo, in which he had to complete 60 challenges within 60 hours in various countries including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Switzerland, South Korea and more. Although an “exhausting” experience for him, the local star got to work with other Asian stars such as Kim Jong-kook from South Korea and Laureen Uy of the Philippines.

Nicole Ong
With a background in finance, the founding partner at blockchain advisory firm, Athena Advisory, is also the Singapore chapter lead of SoGal, a platform for entrepreneurs and investors that aims to close the diversity gap in entrepreneurship and venture capital. Her wanderlust-themed Instagram page provides a peek into her life, that seems to revolve around her workouts and of course, travel #OOTD shots.

Vinny Sharp
The Youtuber, whose real name is Vinesh Nagrani, has been making his own videos for over four years, with some of his earliest work done in Manchester—where he had studied and graduated with a degree in Economics. His most viewed video, Punggol Migration, garnered over 16,000 views and featured Singaporean students talking about life away from home.
