There are different ways of spending time in hospital when you are sick, but athletes show that you can stay in shape.

Tsang Yee-ting, the second karate athlete to suffer from Covid-19, is keeping her fitness up despite undergoing treatment in hospital.

The two-time Asian Games representative put up footage on Facebook of what she is practising when she is not in bed. Tsang said she is performing exercises for 1.5 hours a day to keep her muscle strength.

She has now been in hospital for 13 days and said she is making progress in what she is able to do in her exercise, such as single-leg squats.

She also asked her friends to write the Chinese character for "negative" several hundred times to wish her luck in removing the virus from her body as soon as possible.

There was also good news from Lee Chun-ho, the first confirmed case of the karate group that returned from Europe, which has seen four victims, including another athlete Chau Ka-him and their French coach, Rida Bel-Lahsen.

Lee said on Facebook that he could finally leave his negative pressure room in Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po.

"I can leave this room now so that another patient who needs the facility more can use it for treatment," said Lee.

He also thanked the medical staff at the hospital for helping him through this difficult period.

"I know it is with great pressure you work in this front line isolation room but you guys have been very kind in helping me feel better. I will try my best on my way to recovery and you guys also have to keep going," said Lee.

Lee, who is chasing an Olympic spot in the men's Under-67kg kumite, returned from a training camp and competition in France and Austria early this month.

He was confirmed with the virus on March 18, three days after returning to Hong Kong. Two days later, Tsang became a confirmed case, followed by Chau and their coach Bel-Lahsen.
