The celebrated pastry chef’s eponymous on-site boulangerie and all-day dining establishment will be Hong Kong’s first

As K11 Musea opens with a series of foreign food and drink brands, ranging from London’s Fortnum & Mason to Avobar,  Paris’ revered pastry chef Gontran Cherrier is launching his eponymous bakery at the art-themed arcade in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The Normandy-born pastry chef was born into a family of bakers, honing his talent for bread and pastries with culinary training at Les Grands Moulin de Paris. Cherrier advanced his expertise in bread and pastry through his tenures at Alain Passard’s L’Arpege; Lucas Carton during the times of the late Alain Senderens, as well as running pastry training programmes in Russia and Romania. In 2005 he returned to France to publish his first cookbook ‘A Croquer’, followed by numerous publications and television appearances. In 2010, he opened his first bakery in Montmarte in Paris. In almost a decades’ time he has expanded his business internationally, including over 50 bakeries in eight countries including Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Located at the B2 basement floor neighboring a series of casual food and drink concepts, Gontran Cherrier debuts in Hong Kong this autumn with a large space where bakers prepare doughs for bread that are sold at the retail front, and for sandwiches served at the restaurant beside the bakery. The all-day dining restaurant also serves a la carte dishes for lunch and dinner, together with take-out options available.
