BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The world is now in a battle against COVID-19, a disease caused by a previously unknown coronavirus that has spread to over 200 countries and regions.

The following are the latest updates on the COVID-19 global confirmed cases in hardest-hit countries by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University at 1000 GMT, April 10.

PARIS -- 50 positive cases of COVID-19 on French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, official confirmed.

BISHKEK -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said on Friday it has received humanitarian assistance from China's Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation to combat COVID-19.

The humanitarian supply, including protective suits, masks and non-contact thermometers, arrived in Bishkek by charter cargo flight, the ministry's press service said, adding that rapid tests and ventilators are on the way. The assistance is worth 1.8 million yuan (256,000 U.S. dollars).

MADRID -- Spain recorded 605 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, the lowest number of deaths in a 24-hour period since March 24, as its total number of confirmed cases rose to 157,022 as of Thursday night, according to Spanish Ministry for Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Services.

Increases in infections and deaths fell for the second consecutive day.

BRUSSELS -- Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, Belgium has recorded 3,019 deaths as of Friday, according to Belgian health authorities.

MOSCOW -- Russia has tallied a total of 11,917 cases of COVID-19 in 82 out of 85 regions of the country as of Friday, with the number of infections rising by a new daily record of 1,786, latest official data showed.

The death toll rose to 94 from the previous day's 76, with 795 recovered so far, including 97 in the last 24 hours, Russia's coronavirus response center said in a statement.

LOS ANGELES -- Honolulu, capital city of the U.S. state of Hawaii, on Thursday announced a nighttime curfew for the three-day Easter weekend holiday to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The curfew will run from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day starting from Friday.

The new order comes as the spread of coronavirus is slowing down in Hawaii, though local government and health officials are still urging people to continue to stay at home.

On Thursday, the state reported seven new cases of COVID-19, the lowest one-day infection number since March 25. So far, the total number of infections in the state has reached 442, including six deaths.

VIENTIANE -- Laos has tested more 132 suspected cases, all of them negative, with the total confirmed cases standing at 16.

Lao Deputy Minister of Health, Phouthone Meaungpak told at a press conference in the capital city Vientiane on Friday that COVID-19 infected case in Laos remained at 16, as no new cases were confirmed.

SEOUL -- A total of 91 South Koreans tested positive again for the COVID-19 after being released from quarantine with full recovery, the country's health authorities said Friday.

An epidemiological and clinical investigation was underway into 91 people who tested positive again for the COVID-19 after having been discharged from quarantine with recovery, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC). It was up from 74 cases that retested positive as of Thursday.

KIEV -- The death toll from COVID-19 in Ukraine rose to 69 on Friday, as the total cases reached 2,203, the country's health ministry has said.

According to the ministry, 311 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, while 61 patients have recovered.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia tested 121 suspected cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and all results were negative, according to the country's National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD).

"A total of 121 COVID-19 suspected cases, including a suspected case of COVID-19 in Zamiin-Uud soum of Mongolia's southeastern province of Dornogovi, tested negative on Thursday," Dulmaa Nyamkhuu, head of the NCCD, said at a press conference.

JERUSALEM -- The number of novel coronavirus cases in Israel has risen to 10,095, the Israeli Ministry of Health said Friday.

The death toll of COVID-19 has reached 92 in Israel, said the ministry.

BERLIN -- Germany has reported total 2,373 deaths of COVID-19 infection on Friday morning as the confirmed cases have risen to 113,525, according to Robert Koch Institute, the country's disease control agency.

OTTAWA -- It took less than four months for COVID-19 to change life in Canada and it could take much longer to return to some degree of normalcy, as grim statistics released Thursday showed.

According to Canada's Public Health Agency, there could be as many as 31,850 cases and 700 deaths due to COVID-19 by April 16. As of Thursday, 20,748 cases were reported across Canada, with 509 deaths. But that projection is mild compared to what Canadians can expect in the coming months.  ■
