今年是《The Matrix》20周年，電影公司確認將開拍第四集。《廿二世紀殺人網絡》（The Matrix）在1999年上映時成為全球熱話，之後續集《廿二世紀殺人網絡2：決戰未來》（The Matrix Reloaded）及第三集《廿二世紀殺人網絡3：驚變世紀》（The Matrix Revolutions）都一樣大受歡迎。
飾演Neo的奇洛李維斯及Trinity 的Carrie-Anne Moss確定回歸演出第四集。今年是《The Matrix》20周年，電影公司華納兄弟確認將開拍第四集。主角奇洛李維斯（Keanu Reeves）之前已表態：「這將是一份禮物。我不會對此說不！」據了解，《V煞》監製Grant Hill會擔任電影監製。至於劇本方面，聯同Aleksandar Hemon及David Mitchell，將會有三名編劇。

在《廿二世紀殺人網絡》系列中分別飾演Neo的奇洛李維斯及Trinity 的Carrie-Anne Moss都會參與拍攝。電影暫定明年初開拍，有外國傳媒表示，米高B佐敦將會飾演年輕版的Morpheus，而此角色原本由Laurence Fishburne飾演。
