The newly adopted law on safeguarding national security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will protect the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong residents, according to Han Dayuan, a law professor at the Renmin University of China.
Han says the new law safeguards national security in Hong Kong, while protecting people's rights and freedoms. Its ultimate goal is to protect every Hong Kong resident's rights and freedoms.
