An 81-year-old sculptor from southwest China's Guizhou Province donated his a stone castle he built to a university.
Song Peilun quit his job as sculpture teacher and spent more than 20 years building the "magic stone castle."
The castle has about 300 statues lining both sides of a creek, which resemble huge human figures. Song drew inspiration from local Nuo opera, a tradition in which people wear masks and dance to drive away evil spirits.
Song named the castle "Yelang" after an ancient kingdom that included what is now western Guizhou. Song said he would like to build a fantasy kingdom to pass on local history.
