"All public officials, including ministers and former ministers involved in this disaster, will be prosecuted and we will spare no one," Lebanese President Michel Aoun vowed Friday over the deadly Beirut explosions.

BEIRUT, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun vowed on Friday that all officials responsible for Beirut's explosions will be brought to justice regardless of their positions in the government, LBCI TV channel reported.

"All public officials, including ministers and former ministers who were involved in this disaster, will be prosecuted and we will spare no one," Aoun told reporters at Baabda Palace.

Investigations will focus on three points: how the ammonium nitrate made its way to the warehouse at the port, if the explosion was caused by recklessness and negligence, and if the explosion was related to a foreign attack, he noted.

A day earlier, Aoun asked French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Lebanon to help provide aerial images of Port of Beirut in order to assess if the blast was caused by a foreign attack.

Two huge explosions rocked Port of Beirut on Tuesday at around 6:10 p.m. local time (1510 GMT), killing 154 and injuring 5,000 with dozens still missing under the rubble.
