受 George Floyd 一事影響，美國以至全球都相當關注種族歧視問題，而各大社交平台亦出現一些聲援帖文。近日，Instagram 就在其 Twitter 發推文指，其自動審核技術在識別帖子的時候，誤刪了一些與黑人平權相關的帖子。
Instagram 在推文表示，有用戶向其反映，在帖文中使用 #blacklivesmatter 標籤後會收到系統信息，指為限制某些內容和行動以保護平台，其操作已被阻止。Instagram 解釋，出現此問題的原因是#blacklivesmatter 標籤的數量在短時間內大幅增加，以至其從而自動審核系統錯判。

Instagram 沒有透露有多少用戶因而受到影響，但表示刪除該些帖子並非其原意，並指 Instagram 絕對支持並鼓勵用戶使用 #blacklivesmatter，亦已迅速採取行動，以確保用戶可以表達聲音。
