NEW DELHI, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The lives of Indian people have changed as food is distributed on the streets and all public transport is suspended during a national lockdown.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a "countrywide lockdown" for 21 days in a bid to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
